what a f-word restaurant!the taxi driver confused with somboon seafood (not market) so he took us here. the price was so crazy and the service was the worst.even the taxi they called for us cheated to us.terrible experience ive ever been.

It is definitely not the famous somboon seafood restaurant in Bangkok. The taxi driver lied to us by saying that this restaurant is one of the branch. Food quality is below standard and overprice. Not worth at all. I do not recommend this restaurant. If you accidently arrive at this restaurant, I should recommend you to just have some drink and go to other place. Otherwise, ask the exact price for every ordered food.

SCAM ALERT!! Avoid this place! We were recommended this place a year ago by an old Thai granny who can speak English when we were at Siam Square at night. We were taken in by her as she spin some stories about waiting for her son to fetch her home and about telling us where to eat good cheap seafood. She even stop a tuktuk for us "as it is cheaper". I think the tuktuk and the restaurant are her partners. She is like a spotter hanging out at Siam Square looking for gullible tourists. She was still there last night cheating tourists. Beware! Beware of such "kind" strangers too.

1 2 0 0 0 Baht for 2 dead crabs curry (1 kg), 8 frozen prawns grill (800 g), 1 small dead fish, 1 omelet, 7 cokes (3 half opened) and 2 bottles of water.We don't really mind the price if the food taste is up to the price. I think I can cook better than them lol. After reading the reviews, our hired driver is really getting commission from this place.If you see this review while on your way to this place, please abort your mission right now.

PLEASE MAKE SURE ITS NOT SOMBOONDEE SEAFOOD！Bad taste n pricey restaurant! If u ask taxi driver to recommend nice restaurant, please make sure not here! All the guest come in to the restaurant bring by TAXI driver! If u ask for food recommendation…they will say curry crab, steam lime fish and BBQ prawn, so we go for one curry crab with only one crab inside and alot of egg, steam lime fish, clear tom yum n one vegetable...even l can make better taste for the dishes. Their food taste just like squid fish sauce… and the crab got no curry taste at all... and it cost us 6000baht! I only saw all the review after sit in and made the order, my last meal in Bangkok end with a bad experienced!

Don't ever believe the taxi driver or tuktuk bring you here just for nice Thai food! I think they just want to get commission from this restaurant by bringing tourist come. High price for such so normal food! I don't even want to give a star to rate this restaurant.

We asked a taxi driver take us to Mr seafood. Than we were taken here. I noticed the menu were odd and in the end. paid 20% service charge. Do not be fooled again. Read the menu before you order anything, or simply do not come here.

Please dont come to this fake Somboon seafood resto !!!!!We want to have dining in somboon seafood in Siam Square or lumphini area but the driver taxy insist said that somboon have many branch in Bangkok. Here is one of their branch and not need waiting.When we arrived, They offer so many expensive menu. Even order a medium portion Prawn or Squid, They give you 1 kg portion to charges you higher price.Taste of the food below standart. Prawn in tom yam seafood not fresh !!!Just one advise = never ever come again to this resto !!!!!

Service Charge doesn't show in the receipt and simply charge consumer by writing on the receipt with pen. It's quite expensive and barely get serviced by their waiters and waitress. If TukTuk or driver get you to eat here, just simply say NO. You're welcome.

One of our worst experience in Bangkok is asking the TUK TUK driver outside our hotel of any nice seafood restaurant and he recommended us (obviously getting commission off our bill), which was over-priced! We paid a total of 4155 baht for 2 adults and 1 kid including a 17% service charge (incredibly bad service). We ordered 3 prawns, 1 seafood tomyam soup, 1 squid, 1 steamed fish, 1 Kapitan vegetable, 2 coconuts, 1 sky water and 1 Chang beer. WILL DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE OR EAT OUT AT THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN. Definitely a scam!

It is a scam restaurant! My family sent by a taxi driver. 4 dishes, 1 fish (800g=960 baht), 1 oyster with egg (only 5 oysters inside = 300 baht), 1 vege (200 baht), 1 seafood tom yum soup (300 baht) Only 4 dishes + tea for 5 people, total 2550 baht! *SCAM SCAM SCAM* Taxi driver partner with this restaurant!

This place does not even deserve one star. It’s a classic scam place where paid tuk tuk drivers take you to get comission. The prices are outrageous and the quality of the food is very low. They are getting mixed up with another seafood restaurant with a similar name. Don’t ever go here unless you want to get ripped off.

It is a scam! We got into a metered taxi opp platinum fashion mall and was told ratchada market will open only at 9 pm. Driver offer to take us to a nice restaurant. Thanks to google map reviews, we told them to cancel order (we just placed order) and rushed out of the restaurant quickly. Watch out for cab driver speaks fluent English.

Order something simple but we end up paying an expensive price. Reason given: they use the weight to price the food. For 2 people having a dish of fried rice, 1 pc of steamed crab, 4 pcs of prawns, a dish of cut squids and 5 bottles of beers. We didn't expect to pay almost 6K for this meal. Certainly they have over charged for the food. Watch out this!

Charge us 2600baht only one fish(sea bass), one vegetable and one soup and not really delicious. It is scam shop, don’t go there.

The mixed seafood was nice, went down real well. Fried fish nice and crispy. Service was smart....Just be prepared to pay a lot... An awful lot as in a scam. We asked our taxi driver to take us to a nice place for seafood. It's just an ordinary huge place, the menu has a variety but prices are not mentioned for everything, so they can charge the amount they like. We ordered 5 things and it cost us 5,500/- Baht, with 500/- for service.

It's a scam restaurant well known by the internet. Go to the real Somboon restaurant in Silom for the authentic experience. I can't believe this place still exists in Dec 2019. Unbelievable. Despicable.

SCAM restaurant. Tuk Tuk drivers get a cut of this scam pretending to take you to the famous Somboo Restaurant. Horrible food, no prices, visibly frightened waitresses. Hustled to order from an array of dead shellfish at the entrance before even sitting down in an empty restaurant. Apparently the cooks come out of the kitchen to surround your table if you try to dispute the bill. I’ve never seen a waitress escort someone to an ATM because they’re obviously unprepared to pay 10x as much. They’re banking on tourists who can’t see reviews like this. Pretty sure I hurt their feelings with my first review and they got it taken down. The photo included is said Tuk Tuk driver. The Tuk Tuk driver began grilling me about my income when my husband got up to go to the bathroom, also asking how much he makes, which was super weird, and then we got the bill.Avoid this place unless you want to pay $500 American or 12,000 baht for a plate of hot garbage.

1-Foods are bad and worse, no taste 2-They will offer the food not like a photo and not as per description3-Soft drinks: they will give u in small glass not in can and the taste is bad.4-Too expensive 5-They will add 27 % taxes in the final bill.6-ghost restaurant, no any single customer.7- I felt foods are not fresh and not hot Really bad experience I had in this restaurant I don’t recommend strongly.

I hope someone will be able to do sth for this ! It is a scam they charging extra high cost +10% ( dunno what tax) + 7%VAT + 10% service tax ( can waive if u argue ). All passenger are brought in by taxi or tuk tuk driver.

A bit pricey. Fish and prawns are weighed before being served. Tom Yum soup excellent. Service charge of 10% included in bill. Make sure you keep an eye on bill when ordering shellfish.

SCAM WARNING: AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST.Wanted to go elsewhere but taxi driver told us it was closed. He recommended a "nice", "cheap", and "good" Thai food (and was opened by a governor). Went along with his recommendation but felt something was wrong when we arrived, as it was far too empty. We glanced at the menu and saw many items without price tag. Thankfully we checked the review and found this place to be a scam, and even the taxi driver leaving this place will be a scam. We immediately left the place.

This place is SCAM THE taxi which Tooktook drive took us there from Indra hotel.. the taxi and the restaurant are both the SCAM TOGETHER. We ate there and we ordered 5 dishes and they charge us $500.00 US dollars. So we asked to speak with the manager they never came:: they keep saying that the price of our dinner..if we refused to pay the bill they threat to hurt us.. there people ROBBED CUSTOMERS LAYING ABOUT THE PRICE ON THE MENU.. Dropped off by taxi like everyone else. Drank half a beer before becoming suspicious and checking google reviews. They were unhappy with us leaving before food - we paid for our beers and left quickly.

Taxi driver took me to this restaurant upon his recommendation. Smelt something amiss when i walked into the empty restaurant. Did a google search and saw all the reviews on the scam. I showed the manager and asked him if this his restaurant and he stormed away after realising i saw all the bad reviews... thank god for reviews...

Ordered beer and then realized we were being scammed. Had to be stern to leave without paying for food we didn’t get/ eat. Stand your ground don’t eat!

The sweet and sour fish is nice But it is based on daily price. So you won'tknow the pricing untill its cooked. It was a big surprise to us. We ran out of Thai Baht and had to get 3 persons to clear their wallets to pay cash. The credit card making machine was out of order that day

Taxi scammed us here. Very over priced 4,000 baht for terrible seafood. The service people were unpleasant. I wanted to leave. They told us everything is prepared. We cannot cancel. They target American and Chinese tourist. Avoid this place like a plaque. A terrible and unpleasant experience.

Good street food and served halal food. Price is standard. Tomyam is one of must to try food

They add 17 percent to an already expensive menu. I got scammed by a taxi driver. I suggest going to a different restaurant. The 17 percent addition was in ultra fine print on the menu. The published reviews are accurate.

This place is a SCAM! They will overcharge you by 500% and then add a tax along with it! Do not trust anyone who takes you to this fraud of an establishment! This place needs to be shut down!!

Like others have said, I asked the taxi cab driver for his opinion on his favorite restaurant and he told me this place. After checking out the reviews on google first, the scam does indeed start with the taxi driver. I will not be going to confirm that it is a horrible experience.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!We were searching for a place near this SCAM restaurant, but it seems it did not exist anymore. A taxi driver saw us and redirected us to this sinkhole. Even if the prices are quite high, they overcharge 10% for service and 7% for VAT. Moreover, even the math for this was a "mistake". The restaurant looks like a communist one...no investment since forever.DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!
